China Glaze Twinkle Collection

Press Sample

Good morning, dear readers! I hope you enjoyed the weekend and have had a great start to a new week! For today's post, I have the new China Glaze Twinkle collection for your enjoyment. I have discovered that their bottles don't exactly work well for my normal hand pose that I use here; I apologize in advance for the awkwardness. I definitely need to figure out something else for these bottles! Now to the collection!

I am excited about this new collection; there is something for everyone! Whether you're into cremes, shimmers, or glitters, there is at least one polish that is sure to appeal to you! Let's check them out!

Meet Me Under the Stars
over Out Like a Light
This is probably my favorite combination from today's post! It makes me think of a simplistic galaxy look, and I just adore this! Out Like a Light (the base shade) was amazingly smooth and creamy, and it applied like a dream. I is also very opaque, and I only needed one coat! Meet Me Under the Stars was more sheer and I used two coats here. You could use it by itself, but I suspect it would take three if not four coats for opacity. It applied really easily for me as well.

Define Good...
China Glaze has come up with some great names for their polishes, and Define Good... may be my favorite name ever! This cranberry shimmer just glows, and this photo does not do it justice at all. My camera just couldn't handle the awesomeness of it! The formula was perfect for Define Good... as well, and I only needed one coat here.

Dancing & Prancing
over Define Good...
I am definitely a glitter girl! I still love them after all this time! Something that surprised me about this glitter is the colours are much more muted than a lot of other glitter polishes. I actually really like it as it will play nicely with a larger variety of base colours. The formula was nice and it was easy to work with. I used two coats and topped my nails off with topcoat here.

I'd Melt For You
I'd Melt For You is a silver chrome. I'm really not a fan of chrome polishes so I'm slightly biased against this one in general. It was a little streaky for me, and it really accentuates my nail ridges. That can easily be solved with a ridge filler, so definitely keep that in mind if you pick up this one. I used one coat for this photo.

Chillin' With My Snow-mies
over I'd Melt For You
Ok, I lied. Chillin' With My Snow-mies might be the best name ever! I love the simple all white glitters in this polish, but the formula left a lot to be desired. It is very base heavy, and I got very little glitter on my brush- two to three pieces at best. I ended up doing a lot of fishing and tried to remove as much excess base as possible, but I still had a bit too much base and ended up with bubbling as my nails dried. I think this would be better if you used a toothpick and placed individual glitters or use a sponge to help absorb a lot of the base.

Tip Your Hat
Tip Your Hat is a classic red creme, and while they're not my favorite, there needed to be one in this collection! It applied so smoothly and easily for me! I used two coats here, but it you tend to use thicker coats, you might find that you can get away with just one.

No Peeking!
I'm digging this eggplant shimmer polish! The formula was really nice, and I used two easy coats.

De-Light
over No Peeking
You can't have a winter Twinkle collection without some blingy gold! Just look at all that sparkle! I dabbed on about a coat here, and you could easily use this by itself with two coats. Even though I'm usually not a fan of bar glitters, I do like the short stumpy ones mixed in here.

Pine-ing For Glitter
I really wanted to try out one of these glitter polishes without base colour to check out density. I used three coats of Pine-ing For Glitter plus topcoat here, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this came out! You can definitely layer it over a base colour if you prefer, but I think I like this look even more.

I love the variety of colours in this collection, and overall, the formulas are great!

The Twinkle collection is available now from your favorite supplier!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
